DataCore Software, a storage software company, is looking for Software Interns (AI) at its Bengaluru technical center. The internship is meant for 2027 graduates and final-year students who want to apply AI in a real product setting rather than a classroom one.
Role Overview
The intern supports design, development and deployment of product features, internal tools and services built on modern AI models. The role sits in R&D and reports to the Director of AI Solutions. One detail that sets it apart: interns rotate across projects instead of staying on one, so you see both product-facing AI features and the internal tooling engineers use.
Responsibilities
- Work across several AI projects during the internship, with mentors and other interns
- Write, test, debug, document and maintain software
- Learn and apply current AI technologies across the product development cycle
- Present your outcomes and findings to the team
Requirements
- 2027 graduate or final-year Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science, AI and ML, Data Science or a related field
- GPA of 7 or above, or 70% and above
- Python proficiency
- Familiarity with LLMs and AI APIs such as OpenAI, plus a basic grasp of REST APIs
- Basic front-end skills
- Interest in AI and ML concepts such as neural networks, transformers, embeddings and fine-tuning
- Good written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently
A plus: competitive programming or personal projects that show problem solving, and hackathons, research or open-source work in AI.
What the role involves
Expect short bursts on different problems. One month might be a feature that calls a language model API, the next an internal tool that helps engineers search or summarise something. The posting stresses picking up unfamiliar codebases quickly, so a lot of the work is reading code, asking good questions and shipping small, tested pieces. Presenting findings means you also practise explaining your work to people who did not build it.
Who it suits
It suits a student who has already built something with LLM APIs and wants to see how that looks in production. It is also good for someone who prefers variety over deep ownership of one project. If you want a single long project with one clear deliverable, the rotation may feel scattered.
How to stand out
- Lead with a Python project that calls an LLM API, ideally with a small front end
- Be ready to explain embeddings and how retrieval works, in plain words
- Show a repository with a clear README and commit history
- Bring one example of learning an unfamiliar codebase quickly
- Expect questions on Python basics, REST and AI concepts. This is an expectation, not a confirmed list.
Check before you apply
- Stipend and internship duration are not listed in the posting
- Whether the internship can lead to a full time offer is not stated
- Confirm the batch rule: the posting asks for 2027 graduates or final-year students
- Check your GPA or percentage against the 7 or 70% cutoff
