About the role

Founding Engineer | New York, NY | Up to $200,000 + equity | On-site, 5 days/week

A stealth, well-funded fintech building institutional-grade infrastructure for prediction markets, one of the most interesting new asset classes to emerge in years. Their seed round recently closed and was oversubscribed. This a founding engineer opportunity.

About the role

Build the data layer that lets institutions work with prediction markets at scale. Fully greenfield: cross-venue data normalisation, APIs, and the cloud infrastructure around them, designed and built from scratch in Python and TypeScript on AWS. You’ll work directly with the founders on what gets built and in what order, and own the standards, tooling, and architecture the team grows into.

What you’ll do

  • Build and own production services across APIs, data pipelines and cloud infrastructure
  • Work on cross-venue data normalisation and the products institutions plug into
  • Take problems from idea to production without handoffs
  • Use AI tooling across the whole engineering process, not just autocomplete

What they’re looking for

  • Roughly 2 to 5 years of production engineering experience (more is fine if the scope fits)
  • Strong Python and TypeScript, and hands-on AWS
  • Comfortable working across backend, data and product rather than one narrow lane
  • Engineering experience at a large tech company is a big plus
  • A trading or financial markets background is a plus, not a requirement
  • No low-latency C++ needed

Nice to haves

  • Exposure to prediction markets, event contracts, or other novel asset classes
  • Experience being early at a startup or building from zero

If this sounds like you, apply with an up to date CV and we'll set up a time to talk.
