Senior Software Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a fixed-term, onsite opportunity in Melbourne, FL. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and system architecture of robust Windows-based applications. You will be responsible for driving the integration of industrial automation platforms, SCADA systems, and complex communication protocols within a client-server environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Windows-based software applications and enterprise system architectures.
- Integrate industrial automation systems, including SCADA platforms, PLCs, and operational hardware.
- Implement robust communication protocols spanning GE Cimplicity, Modbus (RTU/TCP), TCP/IP, UDP, Serial Communication, and Genisys.
- Optimize application performance by managing client-server architectures, multithreading, and memory efficiency.
- Manage database solutions and maintain data integrity utilizing Microsoft SQL Server.
- Provide technical leadership through structured code reviews, advanced debugging, systems testing, and architectural guidance.
Qualifications & Skills
- 7+ years of professional experience in full-lifecycle software development.
- Expertise in programming languages, specifically C, C++, and C#/.NET.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, and design patterns.
- Hands-on industrial automation experience, with a preference for Allen-Bradley PLC integration.
- Proficiency with modern development tooling, including Visual Studio, Git, and JIRA.
Education & Logistics
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Location: Melbourne, FL (100% Onsite).
