About the role
Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure) | New York (On-site) | Up to $250,000
Join a growing AI lab, who are building software that enables AI-driven scientific discovery.
You’ll join a small engineering team, to take lead on building the core infrastructure behind the AI lab. You’ll set the technical direction for these systems, ensuring high quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of software that coordinates laboratory operations and enables reliable experimentation.
- Design and maintain backend services and APIs that manage scientific data, experiments, and compute workloads.
- Build and operate the infrastructure that powers our scientific simulations, AI agents, and machine learning workloads.
- Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software systems as we expand our capabilities.
- Drive technical decisions, lead projects from design to production, and help shape our engineering practices.
Skills/Technologies
- Experience in building production backend systems
- Go and/or Rust
- Kubernetes and IaC (Infrastructure-as-code)
- Knowledge of gPRC
- Experience in technical and project leadership
