About the role

Bluecadet is an award-winning, internationally-recognized experience design agency focused on producing transformative digital products and environments. We work with story and experience-driven organizations and brands. Past clients include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Nike, MoMA, Harvard, the MIT Museum, Princeton, The Smithsonian Institution, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

We are looking for a Senior Designer who combines exceptional visual craft with thoughtful experience design. Working across digital, physical, and spatial environments, you'll help shape engaging, user-centered experiences from early concepts through production.

We're looking for a versatile creative thinker who can see the big picture while caring deeply about the details. You'll collaborate with designers, technologists, architects, and storytellers to bring compelling ideas to life.

What You Bring

  • Exceptional visual design skills, including typography, layout, composition, UI design, and visual systems.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging design solutions.
  • Understanding of user-centered design, interaction principles, and experience flows.
  • Ability to think systematically, connecting individual interactions to the larger user or visitor experience.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and relevant design and prototyping tools.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, spatial experiences, and new forms of storytelling.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • An adaptable, self-directed approach to managing multiple priorities and navigating ambiguity.

What You'll Do

  • Develop compelling visual and interactive design solutions across digital, physical, and spatial experiences.
  • Contribute to creative concepts, user journeys, interaction frameworks, and visual systems.
  • Translate ideas into sketches, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and polished designs.
  • Lead assigned design workstreams from concept through production, maintaining a high standard of craft and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to balance creative ambition, user needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Present work, communicate design decisions, and contribute to client conversations.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to the studio's creative culture.
  • Explore new approaches, technologies, and design practices that push our work forward.

Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of relevant professional design experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, conceptual thinking, and experience with digital or interactive design.
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines and contributing to projects from concept through execution.
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Experience Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

We value designers with deep expertise in their craft and curiosity beyond it. Whether your background is in graphic design, interaction design, or spatial experiences, we're interested in how you connect ideas, people, and technology to create meaningful experiences.

We’re remote first

This means your primary work location is remote, but you are expected to work out of our studios or client locations for: Collaboration sessions with client and/or colleagues, internal workshops, mentoring and team sessions, cultural and social events and on-site work installs, meetings and workshops.
