About the role
We’re a well-established, highly respected real estate investment and development firm in Washington, DC, and we’re looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Investment & Portfolio Management team. You’ll underwrite new investments and support asset management across our institutional portfolio of office, mixed-use, residential and industrial properties. This is a great opportunity for a strong underwriter, ideally coming from a brokerage, lender or investment firm, who wants to learn how institutional real estate is owned and managed. You’ll see deals from start to finish, from initial underwriting through asset management.
What You’ll Do
- Underwrite new acquisitions, recapitalizations, developments and existing assets across office, mixed-use, residential and industrial properties
- Build and maintain financial models in Excel and ARGUS, including DCFs, sensitivity and scenario analyses, joint venture waterfalls and projected returns
- Prepare investment committee memos, business plans and capital partner materials
- Coordinate due diligence, including third-party reports, rent roll and operating statement review, lease abstracts and data rooms
- Conduct market research, including lease and sales comps and submarket trends
- Support asset management on assigned assets, growing into primary responsibility over time
- Prepare monthly and quarterly asset reports, maintain property cash forecasts and capital plans, and track budget variances
- Analyze lease economics for proposals, renewals and amendments, and review draw requests prepared by property management
- Participate in partner, lender, leasing and operations calls and track follow-ups to completion
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics or a related field
- 1–3 years of commercial real estate underwriting experience at a brokerage, lender or investment firm, with a high volume of deals underwritten
- Advanced Excel skills, including building models from scratch
- ARGUS Enterprise proficiency (required)
- Strong writer who can turn analysis into a clear memo or partner update
- Asset management experience isn’t required, but a strong interest in learning it is
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple deals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a real passion for real estate
Why Join Us
- Full-time position based in Washington, DC
- Full benefits (health, vision, dental)
- Close-knit, collaborative team with a fun, supportive culture
- Exposure to the full investment lifecycle at a respected, long-standing firm
