About the role
FM Talent Source is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial health of a growing organization serving government, commercial, and nonprofit clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, payroll accounting, and cash management.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, executive reporting, and strategic financial decision-making.
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Unanet ERP.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities and process improvements across accounting and payroll systems.
- Coordinate payroll administration through ADP and ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Support audits, tax reporting, project accounting, indirect rate management, labor reporting, and FAR compliance.
- Provide financial and pricing support for proposals, contracts, and business development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience supporting accounting and finance operations within a government contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
- Strong Unanet ERP experience required or highly preferred.
- · Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll platform.
- · Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- CPA preferred
- Experience with government contracting finance, project accounting, and contract compliance.
- Experience supporting GSA Schedule contracts, including GSA reporting, monitoring, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated success driving accounting automation, workflow optimization, and continuous process improvement.
