Who we are

Central Georgia Technology (CGT) is a locally owned managed IT company serving businesses across Central Georgia. We help healthcare practices, law firms, churches, nonprofits, and other local businesses stay connected, secure, and productive through IT support, business email, phone systems, network management, security cameras, and access control.

At CGT, you’ll have direct access to the owner and work closely with our full team. You’ll have room to contribute ideas, help shape our sales process, and grow within the company as we expand.

As we grow, we’re looking for a Sales Development Representative dedicated to opening doors—connecting with prospective customers, learning about their needs, and setting up qualified conversations with our team.

The role

You create the first conversation. You find the right businesses, get in front of them, figure out if there's a real problem worth solving, and book the meeting. Then you hand it to our account executive with good notes and keep working the next account.

This is not a call-center job. You'll make calls, but you'll also walk into offices, show up at chamber and networking events, and follow up on the outbound emails our team already sends every week.

What you'll do

  • Work a prioritized target list of local businesses, starting with healthcare, legal, professional services, and nonprofit/faith-based organizations
  • Call, visit, and network to start conversations with owners and office managers
  • Run real conversations, not scripts. You'll get a framework and the tools to learn our business, then make it your own
  • Find out if the problem is big enough to matter, and book a 30-minute walkthrough when it is
  • Follow up on warm replies from our weekly outbound email program
  • Pass qualified meetings to the account executive with clear notes on what the prospect said
  • Log every touch in our CRM the same day. No exceptions
  • Report your weekly activity and results to Tim
  • Keep an ear out for local news and business changes that signal a company may need help (new locations, new office managers, a competitor's client getting burned)
What you need

  • A track record in sales, recruiting, business development, or any job where you start conversations with strangers
  • Comfort picking up the phone and walking through a front door
  • Discipline. If you don't write it down, it didn't happen
  • Clear, plain communication. You listen more than you pitch
  • Coachable. You take feedback and use it the next day
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • You don't need to be technical. You do need to be curious and honest about what we do and don't do
Nice to have

  • Experience selling IT, telecom, or other recurring-revenue services
  • Existing relationships in Fayette, Coweta, or Spalding County
  • Connections in healthcare, legal, or the local church and nonprofit community
  • CRM experience
What success looks like

  • First 30 days: learn our services, shadow calls and walkthroughs, and start working the target list. This is a ramp, not a quota
  • After that: consistent weekly activity, every touch logged, and qualified meetings landing on the account executive's calendar
  • Over time: new recurring revenue, and the data to show which approaches actually work
Weekly activity targets will be set with Tim in your first two weeks, based on what we learn together.

What we promise

We'll tell you exactly what we do and what we don't. You won't be asked to oversell. You'll have a clean target list, a framework to work from, and a manager who checks in every week.

Compensation

To include qualified meetings and closed deal bonuses.

Flexible work from home options available.
