About the role
A kindergarten room and a high school chemistry lab need different routines, and teachers at every level ask for help with them. We're adding trainers in El Paso, Socorro, Horizon City, and Canutillo who can work with elementary and secondary teachers alike.
Our trainers present classroom management training to K-12 teachers and staff, at the school or online. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has offered this training since 1993, and educators in every one of the 50 states, more than 400,000 in all, have been through it.
The role is 1099 independent contractor work. Hours aren't guaranteed, and how many trainings you do will shift from one year to the next. Pay for a training day is usually $1,000 or more, and it comes every Friday.
Most of your trainings will come from schools you reach out to, using the approach certification teaches. Your National Director writes up each contract and handles the negotiation. You won't be tied to a territory, so you can train in West Texas or anywhere else in the country.
First comes our Weekend Certification, which is virtual and takes two weekends, three days and 36 hours in total. UMass Global offers 4 graduate credits for completing it. The materials you'll train from, an orientation, and ongoing support all come with it.
Current and former K-12 teachers from any grade level fit, and so do coaches, counselors, and principals. Most of our trainers work in schools and train on evenings, weekends, personal days, and during the summer. Students may apply if they plan to finish certification.
