Who this role suits
Students and recent graduates who want hands-on experience. Internships are usually judged on curiosity, projects and coursework rather than years of work history.
How to prepare your application
- Put one or two projects near the top of your résumé, with a link a recruiter can open in a few seconds.
- Revise core fundamentals for the role; early-career interviews lean heavily on basics and how you reason through a problem.
- Read what BehaviorAI publishes about its product or team, so you can say clearly why this role and this company.
Apply only on BehaviorAI's own site. A genuine employer never asks candidates for money, deposits or bank details to apply, interview or “secure” a job. If something looks wrong, use Report a problem with this listing and we will review it. Read how we check listings.
About the role
The Mission
As a Hardware Intern, you'll work directly with our founding team on real prototypes that ship into real-world deployments — not side projects. We are looking for someone who can start in January 2027.
What You'll Do
- Build and quickly iterate on fine-grained wearable hardware prototypes: PCB layout, firmware, enclosure design, bring-up, and debug.
- Own a piece of the stack end to end, from sensor integration to real-time data streaming.
- Work alongside our ML team on signal processing that feeds cutting-edge AI models.
Your Profile
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Physics, or related majors
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering and sensor technology, with hands-on experience in rapid prototyping for wearables or robotics, including PCB design, embedded firmware, and 3D CAD.
- Comfortable with a scope, a soldering iron, and an unfinished problem.
- Bonus: Coursework or project experience in signal processing, sensor fusion, or wireless data streaming, as well as mechanical design experience for wearable devices, particularly designing enclosures and hardware optimized for high-volume manufacturing.
Why Join Us?
- Real ownership. Small team, no red tape — your work goes into the product, not a slide deck.
- Strong traction. Investment led by world-class top-tier venture capital.
- NYC hub. Work from the heart of New York's tech scene.
- Paid internship, with compensation matching your experience level.
- Mentorship directly from the founding engineering team.
