Job Description

Job Description

Structural Designer / Engineering Apprentice (EIT Track) | Round Rock, TX | On-site | $25-$34/hr + paid overtime

Anchor Talent & Consulting is partnering with a growing structural engineering firm in Round Rock to hire an entry-level structural engineer (EIT track). If you want to run real calculations on real buildings in your first year, not redlines, this is the role. You’ll work one-on-one with a licensed PE and do the analysis, design and reports on commercial, industrial, school and forensic projects up to $20M, while building toward your Texas PE.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze and design wood, steel, masonry and concrete structures (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360), with a PE reviewing your work
  • Support assessments and forensic evaluations of existing buildings
  • Write engineering reports and calc packages that go to clients
  • Update drawings in Revit and AutoCAD (an in-house Revit tech handles most of the drafting)
  • Visit job sites with the PE every month or two

What you bring

  • Degree in civil or structural engineering, or another engineering degree with a structural focus
  • Coursework in structural analysis plus steel, wood or concrete design
  • FE passed (EIT), or plans to take it soon
  • School-level Revit and AutoCAD, and strong technical writing
  • Bonus: RAM, STAAD, or a structural internship or co-op

What you get

  • $25–$34/hr based on coursework, EIT status and experience, with paid overtime
  • Daily mentorship toward your Texas PE license
  • Flexible 40-hour schedule, with options like 10-hour days and a short Friday
  • Dental, vision, life and disability insurance (medical not currently offered)
  • Nine paid holidays, 5 vacation days, 3 sick days and a year-end office closure
