About the role
Capital Markets Operations Analyst | Lending & Credit Facilities
Chicago, IL | Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite
Base Salary Up to $135,000 + Bonus
This is a hands-on lending capital markets operations role. We are not looking for investment bankers, traditional credit underwriters, or candidates whose experience is primarily financial modeling and analysis.
Harnham is partnering with a growing consumer lending business in Chicago to hire a Capital Markets Operations Analyst.
We're looking for someone who understands how lending facilities actually operate day to day. Someone who has worked directly with funding requests, borrowing bases, credit facilities, lender reporting, and financial reconciliations.
This is an execution-focused position where accuracy, accountability, and strong Excel skills are essential.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Managing day-to-day operational activity across lending and credit facilities.
- Preparing, calculating, and reconciling borrowing bases and collateral information.
- Coordinating funding requests, facility drawdowns, repayments, and related cash movements.
- Preparing accurate reporting for lenders and internal stakeholders.
- Monitoring facility balances, funding availability, and reporting requirements.
- Investigating discrepancies across financial data, identifying errors, and resolving issues before they become problems.
- Improving manual processes and building more efficient, automated Excel workflows.
- Working directly with senior leadership in a lean, fast-moving capital markets team.
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience in lending capital markets operations, treasury operations, loan operations, or credit facility administration.
- Advanced Excel skills are mandatory. You must be comfortable working with complex spreadsheets, formulas, reconciliations, and large datasets. There will be a technical Excel assessment.
- Direct experience with at least some of the following: borrowing-base calculations, warehouse financing, revolving credit facilities, loan funding, drawdowns, repayments, collateral reporting, or lender reporting.
- Experience working within a financial services organization, ideally a consumer lender, specialty finance company, private credit firm, or commercial lending business.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of operational processes without constant supervision.
- Confidence working with imperfect data, investigating inconsistencies, and proactively flagging issues.
- SQL, VBA, and process automation experience are advantageous but not essential.
The Opportunity
You'll join a growing lending business where the Capital Markets function plays a critical role in supporting daily funding activity and continued growth.
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership, improve existing processes, work closely with senior stakeholders, and develop deeper expertise in lending facility operations.
If you've personally managed loan funding, borrowing bases, revolving facilities, or lender reporting, we want to hear from you.
Apply directly or contact Harnham to discuss the opportunity in confidence.
