ABOUT THE ROLE
Most assembly jobs are about hitting a cycle time. This one is about getting it right.
You'd be doing bumper-to-bumper assembly and mechanical installation on high-end vehicle builds and restoration projects — fitting, aligning, troubleshooting, and finishing to a standard where the cosmetic result matters as much as the mechanical one. If you've ever been told to stop fussing over a panel gap, this is the shop where fussing over the panel gap is the job.
It's a direct-hire seat on a team that mentors. You'd be expected to help bring junior techs along, and there's a real growth path plus ongoing training behind it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assemble, fit, align, and install automotive components and systems
- Perform bumper-to-bumper vehicle assembly and mechanical installation work
- Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly and fitment issues
- Read and interpret assembly instructions, work orders, technical drawings, and build specifications
- Work with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Hold every assembly to strict mechanical and cosmetic quality standards
- Partner with leads, supervisors, production, and quality personnel
- Train and mentor junior technicians
WHAT YOU NEED
- 5+ years in automotive assembly, restoration, dealership service, or manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with vehicle assembly and mechanical installation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and real troubleshooting ability
- Precision fitting and finishing experience
- Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and specialty automotive tools
NICE TO HAVE
- ASE Certification
- Automotive restoration experience
- Luxury or high-performance vehicle background
- Familiarity with early Porsche models
- Custom vehicle build experience
WHAT THE CLIENT OFFERS
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Health insurance options
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off
- Life and AD&D insurance
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage
- Tool support for technicians
- Ongoing training and development, with a real advancement path
WHY WORK WITH FLAG
- A recruiter who actually answers — you get a direct line, not a call center
- A conversation about the work, shift, and pay before your background goes to the client
- Help coordinating interviews and understanding the next steps
- A direct-hire opportunity with the client, with employment terms discussed before you accept
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements. Lifting and maneuvering automotive components and tools safely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Clean, professional automotive manufacturing and assembly facility, with exposure to automotive tools and equipment, mechanical systems, moving components, and production equipment. PPE is required and provided, and all shop safety procedures apply.
HOW TO APPLY
Hit Apply and a FLAG recruiter will review your background within one business day. If you're a fit, we'll call you to talk through the work, the shift, and the pay before anything gets submitted to the client — no surprises.
